Down to Earth's new product launch

Feb. 18,2014

I received an email from the owner of Down to Earth organic store informing me that they will launch a new product that I may want to take a look or may interest me.

Then since I became busy,I forgot the exact date.Having my continuous duty, and knowing that hon is sick,I decided to go one night, for a quick walk and to go to the organic store, little did I know that that was the exact date the new products will be launched.

I entered the store with lots of visitors and the owner Lokesh(the friendly owner) assisted me in introducing the products. He even toured me around and introduced me to the staff and his parents, and to one of the visitors like Ana,which is also a fitness enthusiast, she conducts one on one health and lifestyle assessment to the store,by schedule.I and Anna had too much topics to talk about that we have discussed too many health-related issues like genetic disposition which can give inherited diseases to the next generation of the the family. She was so nice, and funny thing was during our conversation, she asked me from which airline I am working, and I told her I do not work for an airline,I work as a Medical Technologist, which gave he more interest talking from somebody from a medical background.I would one day schedule a meet-up with her,we shared each others number. And she told me to follow her FB page : gour'mate...which I did.

The product was all about organic chocolates and pastries from a protein bakeshop. It was attended by a lot of people mostly health buffs. They had lots of free tasting goodies and what i enjoyed most was the organic chocolate stacks that I think I had too much.

The brand name of the pastries is called : PROTEIN BAKESHOP by Rashi Chowdary

Taken by their kabayan staff.
The owner of the organic store, nice to see him again launching a new product at his store.

The organic pastries.

The organic chocolate drink.
The organic chocolate stacks.

The experience was good,it is so nice to mingle with a lot of health buffs, taking care of their bodies and still they are eating with gusto.

The kabayan staff were so happy seeing me as the only kabayan buying stuff on their store.

If you want to visit the store and taste the organic food and pastries that they have, just visit this link.

And if you would like to have a personal talk and consultation to a lifestyle guru like Ana Garcia, then follow her on her facebook page.

Stay healthy and beautiful peeps.

Stretching our facial muscles

Feb.26,2014

So all the duty was done,Hydz went on a morning shift while Faith attended the Quality Assurance meeting.Faith was there as early as 1:30PM.Then the meeting went too long, everyone went exhausted(including me finding out that we will be having 12 hour shifts this March). We decided to have tea, cake or coffee to a nearby coffee shop.

Hydz was the most"lugi"one because she has early duty, while me and Faith can sleep long still.Nevertheless,Hydz agreed and we went to Satarbucks Al Ghurair Mall.

We had cakes, they had cold drinks,i had water and chocolate muffin.:-)

We had too many topics to discuss, all went from our 2014 vacation plans,to the basketball game that Hydz played in her phone and so on.

The funny thing after was,Faith decided to have her takeaway, her croissant. And while we were halfway going to Hydz place, she forget,or actually "we" forgot the bag,so we had to come back and get the takeaway goodies.

The fruitful discussion that we had that night was all bout trust issue. How you trust people, how friends can envy you and betray you in the end.And while we think that we know everything,I am still learning, and yes, learned that not all people can be trusted(which is oftentimes) my problem.Sometimes I do not have limits, which I have to be very keen in practicing.

That was how the flow went, and i love engaging stories with these ladies because in the middle of everything,we still can manage to laugh and exercise our facial muscles.

Giving more love

Feb. 21,2014

I visited hon last Friday, actually surprised him at work because he was sooo sick for the past days.

I saw his deep eyes.He does not have appetite.:-(

So i bought him anything that he could possibly need.

We ended up having dinner, even if he was so sick.

But then,he still was so excited to see me the part of the Dubai Mall Aquarium which can be viewed from the resto that we had dinner.

Gladly,he liked my Valentine surprise,a superdry bag,and goodies.

Everyday,you can create a miracle

Just an encounter with a supermarket employee, did not even dare to ask about his nationality, but I can sense,he must be from Bangladesh.

While walking at the supermarket,I passed by the poultry section(the one which sells cut chicken parts and dairy)?Although at times,I have encountered him, whom I think is a middle aged man,he will just smile but never threw a discussion with me.

But this day,he approached me,with his difficulty in speaking in English,i tried to understand him.

Then, thankfully,I did,he was pointing at his feet, with wounds in between. Then I understood that probably he was thinking that I am a nurse because I am wearing a scrubsuit.

I pity the man.He is old, with grayish beard, but has a happy face.He tried to explain to me that he has no money to buy for his wounded foot. And I doubt if he has also any insurance.

Few days before that, hon was very sick that he needed to seek for a treatment at a nearby clinic from his house.During our exchange of text messages,he told me that the doctor asked him if he can allow this Pakistani patient of the doctor buy medicines on behalf of his insurance.

Well,that's another sad story.:-(

Sometimes you want to think on how exactly you can change the world.

And I think with this small things, there will be a huge impact on that person.

Since I don't have anything,I promised him that I will bring him medicines, alcohol ans swabs with betadinie for him to clean up his wound.

The next day,I brought him a pack of assorted things for his wound.I couldn't explain his smile.

And by the way, this guy said "thank you"to me countless times, which is more than enough.

Best in costume :-)

Just want to share how shallow I am when it comes to things..

This photo was taken months back, the mom was my patient, and she came to the hospital together with her husband and daughter.

The procedure was ongoing when from my peripheral vision,I saw a yellow dress from my patient's daughter. While still doing blood collection,I cant't help but be excited and told her how nice her dress is and told her not to leave because I want to have a picture with her.

Ok,fine...you can call me Shallow Judy.

Deira Creek,Dhow Cruise for our Valentine's date

Feb.14,2014

After years of by choice and by chance,I did not have any Vday celebration,it was just a normal day for me.It was just to witness those people who are in love and just dream that one day,I will soon enough decide to date and God will bring me a good man to date.

Then it came,Ron and I met.Friendship blossomed, and rest is history.

Having him in my life is contagious, happy and cannot-be-described.Knowing that God gave him to me,everything else has to be just "thank you..."

As usual, and I think a norm in our relationship,we did not have a plan again for vday,i mean from me,but on his side,I was always guessing.

And then, finally,we decided to got to an adventure,to have a Dhow Cruise in Deira Creek.

It was cold, but I just decided to wear a tank top with blazer for one reason that I know of,we will have a long walk.He was worried at first because I wa wearing my elevated rubber flip flops.
But then I told him,it is comfy, made for walking,so It is fine.

It was actually a long walk since the time we started searching for a parking space.

And then we had to look for a wash room for him, which we eventually found out,was out of order.

So then we walked again, and then, the exciting part was,I enjoyed the boat, wherein you have to ride to cross Deira Creek,i remember the movie Dubai, when Claudine Barretto rode on that similar boat.Exciting!

Then we reached Dubai Old Souk.

It took us around 10 minutes to find the port where the Dhow cruise is boarding, and then had this photo before going in,note: this photo will costs 70 aed, with the Dhow cruise label and date.

The photo op before boarding.

When we arrived at the cruise,it was full, mostly Europeans having their respective dates.

We sat at the middle, and enjoyed the view and the slow, laid back travel of the ship.

The food was not that fantastic, although I certainly liked the fish fillet. The food, they call it International Arabic food which serverd pasta dishes, kebab, lamb and beef.

Arab Health Congress

Jan. 24,2014

24 of January,I was assigned to attend the Arab Health Congress with the other staff from Mediclinic Welcare Hospital.Though I am used to attending different conventions from my PAMET membership, this will be my first time to attend an intertional event which will be a medical convention,a gathering of those people around the world, working in an allied health profession.

The venue was huge,it is set in Dubai World Trade Center, and I decided to wear heels and to bring flats just in case my feet will get tired.

The talks from the speakers were excellent, but the topics were accustomed to be understood more for  a medical practioner. But nevertheless,I still listened.Sometimes I took down notes.

The amazing thing about conventions is that you get to see long time friends from other hospitals like Snow and Chichi.Whom we stayed together until the end of the event.

Overall the event was a massive and grand ,all the people were must having souvenir photos, giveaways and chat with colleagues.

Never to mention that because of the long walks,i decided to wear flats.

Here are some of the pics from the event.
